Captions layer

You can add a caption to a video by clicking the “CC” icon on the video in “My library”.

It’s now possible to position and style video captions as though they were a freestyle text layer. You can customize options like font, background colour and padding.

Text backgrounds and borders

You can now set backgrounds and borders on text layers, including gradient backgrounds and rounded borders.

Web story outlinks

Calls to action for Web Stories have undergone a UX refresh. The updates are intended to bring in more consistency and offer a better experience for users. It is worth noting that third-party URLs now open in the same browser tab, and it is also now possible to add a CTA to a Web Story cover scene.

Fixes and improvements

• Keep a record of the template a scene was saved as and allow overwriting the template with changes

• Remember the type of the last story created and make this the default selected option when creating a new story

• Shift + drag only allows movement along one axis

• Allow colourizing stroke colour as well as fill colour in SVGs

• Improve editor performance when changing scenes and selecting layers

• Allow control over text padding

• Improve performance of colour pickers to allow smoothly dragging

• Extended gradient options for contrast, shape and CTA layers

• Border radius for media layers can now be separately configured on each corner
